VILDE AEDUCAN
---
INFO. - Pronouns : she/her DAO Age : 24 Race : dwarf Class : warrior Specialisation(s) : Beserker - Champion - Guardian Identity : Lesbian Romance : Leliana -
APPEARANCE - Vilde Aeducan is quite small in stature, standing at 4'7", but makes up for it with her intimidating presence. She has very fair skin and a fuller yet muscular frame covered with scars from the many battles she has been in, above and below ground. During her time fighting the Blight she also gained a tattoo; done by her close friend Zevran it is of a Crystal Grace flower in honour of her partner Leliana. Her eyes are slightly down-turned and match her Grey Warden uniform's blue hue. She has a wide and prominent nose that she flares in frustration regularly. Her lips are full and she has a fairly wide jaw. Her voice is deep, soothing and authoritative. Vilde's hair flows in two long braids down her back, sometimes with inter-woven smaller braids within them and metal beads for special ossasions. She twirls her braids into buns at the back of her head for combat and during the fifth blight, this was the only way most people saw it styled. Her preferred clothing includes intricate formal wear in grey, blue and silver hues, matched with elegant yet functional shoes, not forgetting a longsword and her family shield at her back just in case things take a turn for the worst. -
PERSONALITY - Ambitious, astute and argumentative. Vilde may not delight in it but she is extremely proficient at diplomacy. She is a natural leader and always prepared for any situation. However, she can also be found to become easily obsessive or angered and has a lot of trouble expressing her emotions. Her dreams are to provide a structure that helps the people who really need it and to be successful in life. While her fears include being powerless, overlooked and vulnerable. She uses words of affirmation to show affection and lets her stone sense guide her to triumph. -
BACKGROUND - Pre-Game Born and raised a dwarven noble in the underground city of Orzammar, Vilde always felt trapped in many ways. Her dislike for the deception in diplomacy, her identity as a lesbian in a natality-obsessed society and her strong desire for adventure fostered a dream of one day leaving her home and venturing to the surface. Sadly, she could see no way of being able to do; if she would leave her home it would have to be for good and she loved her family too much to bid them farewell forever. Being a dwarf, she could not even dream and escape to the surface and the life she so deperately longed for in her mind. So, to satisfy her want for excitement she would ask visiting Grey Wardens for stories of the surface. Soon going on their Calling, the Wardens seemed to enjoy reminiscing on their past experiences and Vilde delighted in hearing these fascinating tales. -
STORY - Dragon Age: Origins Vilde's time in Orzammar did not last forever, and her hopes to leave came true in a way she did not wish for it too when her younger brother, Bhelen, convinced her that her older brother, Trian, was going to attempt to kill her to secure his place on the throne when their father dies. Despite the accusations Vilde refused to kill Trian, and so Bhelen took matters into his own hands and hired someone to kill Trian. He then proceeded to pin this on Vilde so he had no competition for the throne, thus making Vilde become exhiled from her birthplace, with her younger brother and father turning on her in the process. However, once on the surface, she found a new family with the Grey Wardens- an organisation she had admired from a young age, and thus began her journey of gathering allies and friends to aid in her fight against the Wardens' greatest foe: the Blight. During her time working against the Blight, Vilde found herself helping the mages within the Ferelden Circle of Magi, brokering peace between a pack of werewolves and a Dalish clan, electing Bhelen (her younger brother whom she was extremely close with as a child) as king of Orzammar and encouraging Alistair (a fellow Warden and somewhat of a new brotherly figure to her) to take his rightful place as King of Ferelden. - Post-Game Since defeating the Blight, Vilde became the Warden Commander of Ferelden and a Paragon among the Dwarva. She spent her time post-Blight carrying out her Grey Warden duties at Vigil's Keep and meeting with her family and her friends all across Thedas when she was able, whether to aid them or just to visit them. Leliana, Vilde's partner, also found herself very busy in the time after the fifth Blight and so the couple saw each other only when their schedules allowed. A few years after becomming the Hero of Ferelden, Vilde began investigating rumours about Corypheus, while Leliana became the left hand of the newly elected Divine Justinia. But after not being able to find anything very significant, she travelled back to Ferelden and stayed in Gwaren, which Alistair had gifted to her for ending the Blight, occasionally getting visits from Leliana who spend a lot of her time as a spy on quests for the divine. After a decade of performing her new responsibilities (of which there were a lot), Vilde travelled to the far west of Thedas to find a cure for the Calling, while Leliana was once again called to the Divine's side. Since the Breach appeared and was closed and her love was named the new Divine, Vilde began to live with Leliana, her Mabari and their many pet Nugs at the Grand Cathedral in Orlais, more content than ever before. -
OSGAR COUSLAND
---
INFO. - Pronouns : he/him DAO Age : 22 Race : human Class : warrior Specialisation(s) : none Identity : gay Romance : Alistair -
APPEARANCE - Towering over many of his friends, Osgar is over 6 foot tall. He has soft blue-green eyes, quite pronounced arched brows and an aqualine nose. His thin lips are often in a big friendly smile across his face along with his signature mutton chops and mustache. He has a full figure with a big belly and has very strong arms from years of doing one of his favourite hobbies: sculpting. He also has shoulder length wavy hair and is mostly seen wearing lots of layers with fur as is Ferelden clothing culture. -
PERSONALITY - Osgar is extremely loyal to the people he knows. His supportive and reliable personailty made him many friends amongst the other nobility in Ferelden. He loves doing practical things and creating things with his hands, though there isn't much need for it at Castle Cousland. His sheltered upbringing has, however, led him to be slightly sensitive in certain ways; he tends to repress his feelings, takes things personally and generally dislikes changes. He has never been really interested in fighting, but always found entertainment in going to events and forging new friendships with anyone and everyone he could. -
BACKGROUND - Pre-Game Life at Castle Cousland had always been equal parts uneventful and hectic. Between his noble duties, Osgar would read books on the history of Ferelden and work on honing his skills of crafting things with his hands- his main hobbies being sculpting and wood-working. -
STORY - Dragon Age: Origins After staying home while many of the Castle left to join the King in an upcoming battle, an attack on his home and his family from a trusted family friend took place. Osgar managed to escape alingside his Mabari hound Eli and began to make his way south to find his brother, who left before the attack took place. Hoping to get to Ostagar before the battle began, and failing to do so, he met possibly the last two remaining Grey Wardens in Ferelden. After having Ostagar's events explained to him, as well as the fact his brother may be alive but would be extremely difficult to find, Osgar decided to join the Warden's on their quest on the condition they returned to Ostagar as soon as it was relatively safe to do so. Knowing Vilde and Alistair are his best hope to ever find his brother amongst the teams of Darkspawn in the Wilds and survive, Osgar joined the group. During the year the Fifth Blight took place Osgar met many new companions from many backgrounds and learnt a lot more about the country he read about in the Castle as a boy. Near the end of the time he spent travelling with his new friends, he did reunite with his Brother as they vowed to begin rebuilding some of what they lost. - Post-Game After reuniting with his Brother, Osgar returned to Highever for the siblings to begin rebuilding the Castle Cousland and re-establishing themselves as new heads of the household. It is said that King Alister and Osgar made many trips to one another's manors during the years following and after years of rumors on the pair's true relationship they enjoyed a lovely summer wedding with all their former-companions in attendance, taking Ferelden from zero ruler to two in a fairly short time. -
LEI SURANA
---
INFO. - Pronouns : they/them DAO Age : 20 Race : elf Class : mage Specialisation(s) : arcane warrior - spirit healer Identity : pansexual + nonbinary Romance : Merrill -
APPEARANCE - Lei's appearance changes quite a bit throughout their journeys, although there are some constants in their looks. They have dark-brown almost black hair usually tied up in a low bun, brown slanted eyes, an upturned nose and fairly full lips. They also have flat elf ears as they are a city-elf and a big scar going from across their right ear to halfway across their right cheek. During the time of the Fifth Blight, Lei is outside of the Circle for the first time since they were a child so they are quite slim from years of spending most their time sat reading or drawing. However, post-Blight, Lei continues working on the skills they recently learnt and hone their arcane warrior moves with their new weapon. They develop muscles, their skin becomes more tan from spending most of their time outside and they even have a small growth spurt. They also wear clothes they themself chose and carry with them a lot of small things useful for tricky situations they've found handy over the years. -
PERSONALITY - Lei is not very well known by many, as they spend most of their time in a Circle window reading any and all books they can find in the Circle library. But to those that are close to Lei, it is clear they are empathetic, creative and very in tune with their emotions. This soft nature also means that Lei struggles with conflict, can be closed off to protect their own feelings and is very much so too idealistic about many things. -
BACKGROUND - Pre-Game Lei was brought up in the Denerim alienage and grew up alongside many loving friends and family members who often had get togethers. During a party on a summer evening when they were 10, Lei was angry when city guards came to break up the noise and ended up exploding some logs in a bonfire that a group of people were around, resulting in everyone being thrown backwards and Lei hitting a wall side-on. When they woke up they were not only in a Circle but also found that they had lost most of their hearing. Since then they have been hard at work learning both magic and sign language. Since recently passing their Harrowing, Lei and their service dog Mabari Nina had been enjoying getting access to a whole new load of books and snuggling up in a corner reading a book or on a window sill drawing the things they see. -
STORY - Dragon Age: Origins A blood mage uprising inside the tower they lived in resulted in the Circle being overrun by Abominations which disrupted Lei's peace greatly. After finding others and blocking themselves off for safety, Lei met a Grey Warden who wanted to help. Lei and a senior mage named Wynne decided to join the Warden to help save any mages they could while killing Abominations they encountered on the way. Afraid to stay in the tower after the ordeal, Lei joined the Wardens' companions alongside Wynne to help them defeat the Blight with their range of skills and knowledge. During the year they spent with the Warden's Lei grew and learned a lot about themself and what they wanted to do with their newly-found freedom. Along their travels they learnt the ways of the arcane warrior and used these skills to help any in need they met along the way. - Post-Game After helping to defeat the Blight Lei decided to not return to the Circle, instead returning to Denerim Alienage in which they grew up with an old friend they reunited with during their travels no less. Lei Surana and Mabli Tabris used their new skills and new connections to bring the Alienage into a new time of prosperity for years after the Blight had ended. However this did not last forever, and when this time of prosperity was forcefully ended Lei decided to travel to the Free Marches and help anyone they could that were negatively effected by the recent explosion of Kirkwall's Chantry. It was here that Lei met the love of their life : a mage named Merrill who was also dedicated to helping any elves seeking refuge from the explosion In the years following, Lei and Merrill helped each other as much as they helped others and are still as happy as ever with one another while they give aid to any who may need it across the Free Marches. -
MINKA AMELL
---
INFO. - Pronouns : she/they DAO Age : 30 Race : human Class : mage Specialisation(s) : blood mage Identity : bisexual Romance : Anders -
APPEARANCE - Minka's base looks are her round, freckled face with yellowish green eyes, a small nose and jet black hair. She has a chunk of ear missing where a high helix piercing would be on her left ear and a lot of scars over her body from many year of blood magic (though she hides these with clothing as much as she can. Minka is quite tall standing at 5'10" and is fat with a pear body type. Minka always like to have her looks stand out amongst her peers. In the Circle she cut her own hair which did not always turn out looking perfect but that's how she liked it and it was one of the only ways to express herself while trapped in that tower. Once out of the Circle she was extremely excited to be able to look the way she wanted. She continued to cut her own hair but kept it mid-neck length and swooped back out of her face and began buying and using dark black make-up on her lips and around her eyes. Her clothing choice also changed from an ordinary red Circle robe to decreasingly less colourful and more so monochromatic clothes over the years. Some say these changes resulted from an obsession Minka had with blood magic and particularly Tevinter which made her increasingly more intimidating as time went on. -
PERSONALITY - Minka has always been an intelligent person, always being straightforward and honest when she is able (sometimes to a fault). However, her one big secret is her use of blood magic. Encouraged by some and discouraged by other fellow mages, she began only using it when really necessary. But over the years she has used it more and more frequently, her morals falling as her power rose. She has always wanted freedom and the knowledge to know what to do with it, and will do what she must to get those things. Her cynical and insensitive nature and short temper have led her to not make very many friends among the Circle, which is one of the only reasons that she has not already been successful in escaping and staying free. -
BACKGROUND - Pre-Game Ripped away from her family in Kirkwall at a young age. Her magic manifested when she was 8, when she accidentally shocked a friend with a bolt of lightning when they frightened her. She was brought to Kirkwall Circle then in 9:08 and began learning about her magic although she was not very powerful or competent with it. Since then she has moved Circle's quite a few times and has found other ways to grow her power. -
STORY - Dragon Age:Origins In her 30s, and after yet another failed attempt to escape the Circle, this time with her friend Jowan, Minka had been biding her time to make another move, and after being in talks with other known blood mages in the Circle they decided to revolt, unleashing havoc upon the Circle. But even this was thwarted by a visiting Grey Warden who slaughtered the Abominations they had created and defeated the leader of the uprising: Uldred. After being defeated by the Wardens, Minka begged to join them and give her life if needed if they didnt tell the Templars that she was involved. Seeing the use, and potential danger, of this situation Vilde reluctantly accepted and Minka left the tower with her new companions. Minka (much to her own relief) was able to survive her time with the Wardens during the Blight and found a few small joys in her new freedom. Although she disagreed in most things with her companions, she did enjoy being able to do what she pleased and living without secrets to those around her. - Post-Game After spending the rest of the Blight with her new companions (and not always helping them to defeat it), Minka spent quite a bit of her time acutally in Orzammar. Some say it was to hide from Templars or to hide from other enemies she had made. But the truth was that she had agreed to help Vilde and a lady named Dagna set up a Circle in the underground city and these other things were merely coincidences she was happy to live with. - Although she enjoyed a lot about her time in Orzammar she missed the open air and her family, so in 9:37 Dragon she decided to head to Kirkwall and see if she could find any of her remaining family. She was overwhelmed to find not only her uncle and cousins but also an old friend who escaped the Circle a little after she did: Anders. In the following years she spent in Kirkwall many unfortunate things came to pass. Minka and Anders (now a shell of his former self and most given way to the spirit Justice) began to date and the city suffered for it. She fell out with her cousin (the now Champion of Kirkwall) frequently and caused a lot of problems for her resulting in the biggest problem she had a part in yet - the destruction of the city's Chantry. Shortly after this event Minka and Anders fled the city back to a place she could find refuge and little prying eyes : the Orzammar Circle, where they spent the next few years trying desperately to recover from all they had recently done. -
ROWAN MAHARIEL
---
INFO. - Pronouns : he/they DAO Age :23 Race : elf Class : rogue Specialisation(s) : ranger Identity : pansexual Romance : Zevran -
APPEARANCE - Rowan's nickname may perhaps give away a lot about his appearance. He has fairly dark brown skin, which is covered mainly in freckles and the warm-brown Vallaslin he has of the Dalish goddess of the hunt: Andruil. He has very long dark brown hair as well as black eyes, a bird-like nose and a wide mouth often spread into a big smile. As they are Dalish, Rowan has upwards-pointing ears and from his time spent in a lot of trees and hunting for the clan's food he has thick and strong arms and legs. They also have lots of little scars on their fingers and arms from using bows to hunt. -
PERSONALITY - Rowan is known by most of his Dalish clan by the name Sparrow; in equal parts because of his musical nature, the fact that he is often seen (or rather hiding and not seen) up trees and also because of their dark black eyes and the rest of their natural palette similar to the bird. He is very friendly, warm and optimistic and so has many friends among the clan. However, they are also impulsive (always focusing on the now and never making long term plans) and always go with the flow, never really taking charge. While they are used to travelling, they are used to also always being with people they know and trust and so don't do well on their own or in new situations where they're unsure what/who to trust. -
BACKGROUND - Pre-Game Not knowing much about his biological parents, Rowan has always tried to fill that gap with other things. He has always made sure his life is full of people, full of music, full of laughter, full of trying to be helpful to the clan by hunting to provide whatever they need. They were good friends with another elf in their clan called Merrill and also harboured romantic feelings for an elf named Tamlen who they were even closer too. -
STORY - Dragon Age: Origins One one particular day scouting with his partner Tamlen, they found something they had never seen before and decided to investigate so they could bring news of it back to the clan. During their search of the ruins, Tamlen came in contact with something that made him immediately infected him with the Blight. Luckily, as Rowan was not close enough he did not contract the infection, but was badly injured by the blast that hit him when Tamlen made contact. Shortly after Rowan returned home the clan decided to pack up and move, hoping to heal Rowan before they went. However, when they found they were not able to in time and wanting to spare him of a long and hard journey, they made they difficult choice to hand Rowan over to another nearby clan and make the journey without him. Rowan had to live with a clan who's Keeper, Zathrian allowed him to stay there while he works through his grief and heals his physical injuries. Only a couple of months after joining the clan, Rowan is looking for a way to leave- he doesn't feel at home and more strange things have been happening in the Brecilian Forest. A visiting Grey Warden agreed to help the clan settle a specific grievance in return for aid defeating the Blight and having lived in the forest a lot of their life (and hoping this is their ticket out of this strange clan) Rowan offered their help during this task. When this task ended with Zathrian's death and more changes to the clan, Rowan's wish was fulfilled and Vilde agreed to let him join her group, where he spent the remainder of the Blight getting to know and enjoying his time traveling with his new friends. - Post-Game Post-Blight Rowan and Zevran, whom had become very close during their travels, decided to continue to journey together in search of more adventure: more fun, more music and more love. They moved around Thedas a lot, avoiding the Crows when they wanted to and finding new places they could never dream of. Throughout their years of traveling together, they saw their former-companions surprisingly regularly as they often ran into one another purposefully and sometimes coincidentally.
SENN BROSCA
---
INFO. - Pronouns : he/him DAO Age : 25 Race : dwarf Class : rogue Specialisation(s) : assassin Identity : bisexual + trans Romance : Morrigan -
APPEARANCE - Senn as you could guess is very short, but he sports a long red beard, trimmed moustache and shoulder-length red curls, both with plenty of braids in them. He has bushy eyebrows with a slit in the right one and a few other small scars dotted around his face as well as the rest of his body from fights during his time as a Carta member. As well as scars, he is covered with freckles and has a Casteless 'S' shaped tattoo on his right cheek. Senn has big golden brown eyes, a prominent nose and a cut on his lower lip. He also has a stocky figure and is regularly seen wearing leather made from Nugs, as is very common practice in Orzammar. -
PERSONALITY - Growing up in Dust Town, Senn has built a hard exterior. Because of the need to protect his feelings he is often seen as rude, intimidating and impatient. However he lets out his charming, bold and outgoing side when he he is able to. Senn is very resourceful and very persuasive, making him quite valued by the Carta despite his low standing. However he is also a huge risk taker and makes a lot of impulsive decisions which can often end badly, leading him to a lot of unfortunate situations. -
BACKGROUND - Pre-Game Senn has had nowhere near an easy life - a father who left, a mother who turned to alcohol and surrounded by a society that doesn't care about him. All he has ever had to keep safe and to keep him safe has always been his sister Rica. Him and Rica grew up repaying debts to the Carta that their mother had passed on to them, meaning they had to work everyday doing jobs they rarely volunteered for or enjoyed. -
STORY - Dragon Age: Origins Recently Rica had been seeing a Noble man, hoping to end her work with the Carta and move up and out of their situation and Senn had been doing tasks for the Carta leader to improve his standing as much as he could. But after a job went south and Senn and his best friend Leske were found out doing things they shouldn't have been, they landed themselves in the Carta's own prison. Trying to survive and endure their punnishment, unsure what to do next, Senn and Leske awaited their judgement for months in their cells. However one fateful day a Grey Warden named Vilde came across them while taking out the Carta for Bhelen. She helped them escape and Senn offered to repay her by helping her with her quest for the rest of the time she was in Orzammar. After finding out Rica was now living happily in the Palace, having a very emotional reunion and then a very long and difficult trip to the tunnels of the Deep Roads, Senn and Vilde became quite good friends (as well as now technically being family). As the trip went on Senn realised there wasn't much to keep him in Orzammar: his sister was happy and healthy, all he had ever wished for, and Vilde made the surface sound so freeing and exciting. Senn decided to leave Orzammar with the Grey Warden's companions when they returned from finding Branka and he stayed with them until the Blight was ended and the Archdemon slain. - Post-Game On the road, during the remainder of the Fifth Blight, Senn experienced a great many new things, his favourite being his first true love: Morrigan. Both of the pair hiding parts of their past and trying to do better by themselves, they found themselves trying to do better for one another too. Unfortunately this sometimes meant that they thought the other would be better without them and more than once pushed each other away. However, each and every time they looked for and found each other again, allowing themselves a little more comfort and love than they thought they should. The longest time they spent apart was directly after the archdemon was slayed, when Morrigan left on her own leaving only a letter for Senn to find comfort in. In the following months Senn asked his friends for help not only finding Morrigan but also finding his father who left for the surface when he was young. He found solace in that they were able to find his father and he spent a little while with him in Denerim making up for lost time and still adjusting to life in a city on the surface. Yet another few months later Senn with the help of VIlde managed to track and find Morrigan. Upon their reunion, both sides of the couple realised how deep their love for one another went and they decided to stay together and bring up the child Morrigan was heavily pregnant with, together. Years went by doing exactly this, Morrigan and Senn both loving their child and eventually then both joining the Empress of Orlais's court, though in different ways. Morrigan became an arcane advisor while Senn joined the Shadows of the Empire (a group of assassins employed by Orlais' thrown incase the Game ever gets out of hand). Enjoying their life together, no matter what difficulties came their way, they continued to face everything as a family and protecting their child the way they wished their mother's had. -
MABLI TABRIS
---
INFO. - Pronouns : she/they DAO Age : 18 DAI Age : 29 Race : elf Class : warrior Specialisation(s) : guardian - champion Identity : bisexual Romance : × -
APPEARANCE - Mabli is very short, even for an elf, standing at 5'3". She has honey toned skin as her father was white and her mother black. Mabli has very curly ginger hair which she usually wears in braids or twists, with a headband to keep it out of her face. She also has light brown eyes, thin eyebrows, flat elven ears and a fairly flat oval shaped face. Her face is very expressive, but when in its natural state she has two prominent bucked teeth. Mabli may be small but she has a quite muscular frame, developing over the years since she met Vilde and began learning to use two-handed swords. -
PERSONALITY - Mabli is an extremely inspiring person, especially to those around her in the Alienage. She is very caring, affirming and very generous; she would do anything for the ones she loves. This enthusiastic and often idealistic nature has led them to be quite popular near her home, but not as much so outside of the Alienage. Seeing things she feels passionately about and working to pave a way to make positive changes is something she has always felt strongly about. For those that agree with her she is commited and driven, however for those who disagree she is seen as controlling and dramatic. -
BACKGROUND - Pre-Game Although Mabli's mother died when they were younger, she still carries many of her mother's traits. She has many friends among the Alienage but is especially close with her cousin's Shianni and Soris. She is lively, a good fighter with both her swords and her words, and some times stirs up quite a bit of trouble. Because of all of this, their father had a bit of trouble finding a suitable husband for them, but he did find someone in the end. -
STORY - Dragon Age: Origins Mabli and her fiànce only got to meet briefly however, and were not able to get married due to unforseen and deeply unfortunate events. After a hugely horrifying ordeal involving human nobles and city guards, and which resolted in Mabli's fiànce being murdered as well as her friends being subject to other horrible things, she was then sent to the Arl of Denerim's estate to be imprisoned in the dungeon. Mabli now sits awaiting whatever may come next, surrounded by other unjustified prisoners trying to either survive or escape. It was here, in her lowest point that she met Vilde whom unlocked her prison door. However, unlike the other prisoners Vilde freed Mabli stayed by her side to fight their way out of the estate together, some form of repayment. When the two got recaptured and taken to Fort Drakon they had the opportunity to learn about one another between the painful treatement and the waiting for their opportunity to escape. Mabli told Vilde of the city elves struggles and agreed to testify against Loghain at the Landsmeet as long as Vilde help her help the other elves. After a journey to the Alienage, discovering even more inhumane atrocities Loghain had put the elves through and both warriors seeing the others' strength and humility in helping the elves a bond grew. Mabli looked up to Vilde a lot and learnt a lot mentally and physically through watching her deal with tough situations in court and on the battlefield. In the short time they knew each other they became good friends and did a lot for their people respectively. - Post-Game Because of their close bond, once the unrest in the Alienage, the landsmeet and the Blight had ended (all with great help from Mabli herself) Vilde began to train her whenever she was ever in Denerim and Mabli even began working with King Alistair to improve things for the elves in Ferelden. After several years of a new time of prosperity for the elves in Denerim Alienage, things were halted to a stop when riots took place and most elves left their homes. A mercinary band names The Bull's Chargers that was in the city during this time leapt to help the elves as much as they could and this is when they came across Mabli also doing all she could to help those around her. Greatly impressed by what they saw, Mabli was offered a place to join them and after working with them to aid any remaining alienage elves she accepted and joined their group. Years after working with her new companions, the group decided to offer themselves to be employed by an upcomming organisation coming to be known as the Inquisition. -
THE PETS
---
Barkspawn - Both survivors of Ostagar's events, when Vilde saw the dog she had earlier helped heal from infection bound happily towards her she knew they must stay together. What she did not know was what to name her new companion, which lead to a decision she would go on to laugh about and regret for a while: she allowed Alistair to name it. Thus Barkspawn was officially part of the crew and remained by Vilde's side even long after the blight. -
Eli - Eli was giften to Osgar Cousland as a puppy, a sort of in joke jabbing at Osgar's nickname from his parents: "Pup". After growing up together for years, Eli still follows his owner wherever he goes: always making new friends and making mischief. -
Nina - When Lei Surana was younger they were trying to learn to control their magic as well as learning sign language which was very overwhelming, especially for a child. A service dog was introduced not only to alert Lei to sounds and such that they may miss but also - due to the immense intellegence of the dog - to help guide them around the Circle without a Templar constanly needing to. The dog was also there to support Lei emotionally through all the difficult changes they were navigating. After many years together their first dog was retired and Nina (a Mabari puppy) was given to Lei a couple of years ago. Although it was a hard adjustment at first, Lei and Nina get along very well and they are forever grateful to have the young dog by their side. -
KYRA HAWKE
---
INFO. - Pronouns : she/they DA2 Age : 24-31 [prologue = 24] [act 1 = 25] [act 2 = 28] [act 3 = 31] Race : human Class : rogue Specialisation(s) : shadow Identity : bisexual, polyamorous DA2 Romance : Isabela & Fenris -
APPEARANCE - Act 1 Being a Fereldan refugee starting fresh in Kirkwall, Kyra's appearance is not the most polished. She has scruffy shoulder-length ginger hair, a cheeky smile with a big gap between her two front teeth and usually more than a few specks of blood on her at any given time. She blends in with a lot of the smugglers in the city with her rogue-ish clothes, but her bright golden-brown eye make her stand out in a crowd. She has a small nose but a big stature as she is 6 foot tall. She is fairly lean and has a slightly muscular frame. Act 2 After spending a few years in the city Kyra has done some self-discovering about herself and how they want to express their identity. Around this time she began cutting her hair shorter with her own daggers, now wearing her ginger hair in three small pigtails with her new undercut visible. She also began using makeup sometimes, since she is now able to afford it. Another thing she can now afford is jewellery, which she indulges in buying regularly: she has many earrings and a septum nose ring, as well as lots decorative pieces of arm and neck jewellery with a ring on most fingers. It's said that you know when Hawke is coming before you see her because you hear all of her jewellery jingling as she walks. She sticks to wearing rogue-ish clothes but now has a few plates of armour to keep her more safe in the city streets at night. Act 3 After defeating the Arishok in single-handed combat, being named the Champion of Kirkwall and going around the city all night long with Varric to celebrate, Kyra got a dark red tattoo that spans across her eyes and forehead. She also has had her own armour made which is of better quality and more extravagant, as she is now confident in herself and does not mind standing out. -
PERSONALITY - Walking into a room, you can guarantee all eyes will be on Hawke. Kyra is spontaneous, energetic and enthusiastic and loves new experiences. She is not only open and accepting, but sympathetic and compassionate to anyone and everyone she meets. She has a warm personality and loves meeting and getting to know new people. However, Kyra's peace-keeping nature sometimes leads her to avoid conflict which can lead to more issues. She gets along with most people, but the ones that don't like her might say she is immature, impulsive, reckless and unfocused. But this won't stop Kyra enjoying life to the fullest by singing, dancing and laughing with her friends. -
BACKGROUND - Pre-Game In the warmer months of 9:06, Kyra Hawke was born. Her parents, Leandra and Malcom, were forbidden lovers that ran away from their lives to be together and who raised Kyra and her two younger siblings as best they could. Kyra's father and younger sister Bethany were both mages and thus the family was constantly avoiding Templar capture, moving around the country to different houses quite a few times. While their father taught her sister to master her magic and how to keep it secret too, Kyra and her brother Carver were inseparable. The two spent their teenage years taking jobs around their village, causing trouble and teaching themselves to fight. As Kyra reached her twenties her father passed away, her and her brother joined the King's army to bring in money for their family. Kyra and Carver were present at the battle of Ostagar, ready and willing to give their all to help fight the Darkspawn - or so they thought. However when the two fighters saw Loghain's forces retreat at the same time as their comrades died around them, they left the battlefield to help their family escape the imminent Darkspawn invasion. -
STORY - Dragon Age: 2 Sadly, on the journey to evade the Blight, Carver gave his life defending their mother from an attacking Ogre, which affected Kyra immensely. Nonetheless, what was left of the family managed to escape Ferelden and make it across the sea to the city of Kirkwall. Once the Hawke family had made it to Kirkwall, and in the following year when the Blight had ended, Kyra began her new life in the city. Over the 7 years she spent there many things happened to her: to her family, to her new friends and to the city as a whole. Her family lessened even further, Bethany was captured by Templars and taken to live in the Kirkwall Circle and Leandra was captured by a deranged mage who took her life. Her newly made friends faced many problems that Kyra did her best to offer support with. Perhaps most unfortunate of all, Kirkwall suffered many problems in those seven years with the discovery of the extremely dangerous Red Lyium, the arrival and attack from some Qunari, the rising conflicts between the city's mages and Templars and finally the destruction of the city's Chantry that sparked an enormous uprising from mages all across Thedas. During these events she helped refugees and mages where they were able to, attempted to settle the Qunari in the city peacefully and supported mages in their fight for freedom. Althought many terrible things happened during her time in the city, she also found joy in falling in love with two of her companions: Fenris and Isbela. While the three had a complicated mix of relationships throughout the first 2 acts, things changed in a major way in the 3rd. After the death of her mother in act 2, Kyra was unable to take care of herself and lost in grief. During this time Fenris and Isabela were fundamental in helping her through everything. Their joint want to be the person protecting Kyra created a bit of animosity in the house before Kyra told them that they are both so important to her and she wouldn't be there without them. This sparked a new way of caring, caring for each other and having each other's backs. They found the comoanionship they longed for within each other and chose to create their own space for one another in their lives. Although things are sometimes tough, the three and beyond happy and dedicated to one another in a way that was unexpected but welcomed by those closest to them. They found comfort and companionship with each other at a time and place that they did not expect to find it, but really needed it. They balance each other out: Kyra helped them both to be more open about their feelings, and she helped Fenris and Isabela feel like they could talk about things and realise its okay to make mistakes if you learn from them, also they both make Kyra feel appreciated, wanted and help her realise she doesn't have to put the whole world's problems solely on her shoulders. They are all different people and there's no denying it, but they have helped and continue to help each other through so much trauma and hard times that they have become invaluable to each other. After helping Kirkwall mages defend themselves and escape when they could, Kyra and her friends fled the city before more opposition appeared. - Post-Game In the years since the Kirkwall uprising Kyra spent a lot of time in hiding with her partners Isabela and Fenris on Isabela's ship. They sent letters to her sister when they could and helped manage the fallout from the uprising she had her part in starting. Eventually Kyra left her partners' sides in order to help the Inquisition with this goal too, only seeing her companions when possible. During her time at Skyhold, they went to and survived their journey into the Fade before beginning her journey to Weisshaupt. While they are currently separated on their own personal journeys across Thedas, they hope to reunite soon and celebrate with drinks and a lot of card games. -

INFO. - Pronouns : any DAI Age : 27 Race : elf Class : mage Specialisation(s) : rift mage Identity : unlabelled DAI Romance : Solas -
APPEARANCE - Forever curious, Yenera is almost always seen with a furrowed brow atop two big light green eyes. They have full lips often slightly open ready to ask never-ending questions and a very typically elven nose. Their hair is cut quite closely to their head and is dark brown almost black as well as being very curly. Yenera usually styles his hair to cover a cut on their forehead which they got during a fight in which their sister died, preferring to hide the scar and not have to explain it. However, after becoming Inquisitor and gaining a few close friends they decide to begin tucking their hair behind their very upward-pointing ears, no longer hiding as many parts of their past with those around them. Yenera has quite a short and small stature with dark green Dirthamen vallaslin partly covering their dark brown skin. Preferring to wear comfortable clothing, Yenera's outfits are mostly comprised of loose and stretchy cloths with little leather or metal armour where needed, and a few books and jars of jams or honeys to use while they wander. -
PERSONALITY - Living up to his title as Inquisitor Yenera has always been very inquisitive, questioning everything they see, hear and have been told their whole life. While they ask lots of questions to anyone they meet, they're very closed of about themself and hides much of their past to most people (with only Solas, Cole and Leliana knowing her upbringing through most of her time as Inquisitor). This secretive nature means Yen has difficulty being comfortable in social situations, can be overly independent and has only a small group of close friends whom they are fiercely loyal to. Other than this he is very creative, very knowledgeable, loves looking at small details and problem solving and can get tunnel vision due to their hardworking nature. -
BACKGROUND - Pre-Game Yenera's history is not a happy one and so not one they share willingly to many people. Their mother was a Dalish mage who was forced to leave her clan due to too many mages and so she began a new life in the nearest village or city she could find. This city (Ansburg) in the Free Marches is where Yenera's father lived his whole life. He was also a mage but lived in the city's Alienage working as a maker of potions, teas and poultices to sell to other mages in need in the city. When Yen's mother arrived in Ansburg it wasn't very long before she met their father and moved in with him to help run his business, and not long after this did they fall in love. Both being mages they knew any children they had would be too, so when they had Yenera and their sister Di'huni they immediately began teaching them to conceal any magic they may get and what to do if any Templars ever came knocking. These plans were sadly shown to be needed when both parents were taken by Templars one day while the twins where out making deliveries around the Alienage. Di'huni being the more mature twin, took Yenera immediately as they followed their parents plan and left to find a nearby Dalish clan. On this long journey the two came across giant spiders which attacked them immediately. While they were both only sixteen, Di'huni's magic was much more powerful than Yenera's and she lost her life protecting Yen from the beasts' attacks as they ran. A little while after this tragic loss of all their loved ones, Yenera did find a Clan and joined them immediately. Clan Lavellan did not accept her fully for being a city elf and they had trouble making friends in their time with the Dalish. However, they found a parent figure in the clan's Keeper who took them under their wing and Yen eventually became the Keeper's First, being used for lots of important quests because of Yen being a Dreamer and having more power than most in the fade. This position and their questioning nature is what led Yenera to be the person to go to the Conclave and find out as much as they could. -
STORY - Dragon Age: Inquisition Unfortunate events seem to follow Yenera wherever they go as the Conclave they were sent to ended in the loss of many lives including the Divine's. After being captured and questioned by a group called the Inquisition she agrees to help in any way she can with the new powers she has gained from the event. Waking up in the aftermath of calming the breach, Yenera finds himself in a strange situation, willing to help those in need if they can. - Post-Game . -
CLEMENTINE (CLEO) ADAAR
---
INFO. - Pronouns : she/they DAI Age : 29 Race : qunari Class : mage Specialisation(s) : spirit healer Identity : biromantic, demisexual DAI Romance : Josephine -
APPEARANCE - Cleo has a very angular face, as most Qunari do, which makes people think she's intimidating working both for and against her in her role as a healer of a mercenary group. She has high cheekbones, a low septum and curling horns that stretch out and backwards. They have sharp, grey, slanted eyebrows and eyes which are bright yellow-orange which she was named after (her actual name being Clementine, although she doesn't go by that often). They have white hair that is long and wavy, but they mostly wear it up in a bun while travelling and fighting so it does not get tangled in their horns. She has light grey skin with olive undertones and freckles on her nose, cheeks and shoulders along with a scar on her left cheek. Cleo is always seen with a stash of healing equipment on her at all times and ready to rush to help any friend in need. -
PERSONALITY - Being the healer of her mercenary group, Cleo is practical and a people-person and always wants to help the "team", whether that means healing wounds or defending a friend in a fight (sometimes both together). As well as her very loyal, supportive and protective nature Cleo sets herself high standards, wanting to do as much as she can and more to further her or her friend's goals. These high standards can mean they are hard on themself and can take things very personally when things go wrong. Although Cleo loves helping people, she is quite private and protective about her own self and her past and does not open up fully to many people at all leading her to not have many deep friendships and repressing feelings of wanting to get close to people for fear of failure in any way. -
BACKGROUND - Pre-Game Cleo's middle name is Hissera, meaning 'hope', which is exactly what she meant to her parents who fled the Qun in hopes of a better live in The Free Marches. Surrounded by other Tal Vashoth and Vashoth, she grew up with many aunts and uncles and had a relatively happy childhood...until her magic manifested when she was 13. Cleo's father being a mage and former Saarebas feared for his daughter and immediately got the help of one of Cleo's aunts who was a Tal Vashoth mage to help her learn about and control her magic. This worked well and Cleo learnt not only how to control her magic but also how to use it to defend or even heal herself if need be. At only age 16 Cleo joined a mercenary band with a few friends and quickly showed a talent, with her boss (whom she didn't particularly get along with) relying on her magic attacks to win many battles. However, only 2 years later she left and joined a different merc. group (Valos Kas) after a particularly heated arguement with her boss. Yet another two years later, during a job Valos Kas had reluctanly accepted due to its dangers and rewards, Cleo was captured by enemies and taken to the closest mage tower: the Kirkwall Circle, where she he spent the next 5 difficult years. Being the only Qunari in the circle she had more difficulty than most and while she made many friends among the mages she faced a lot of hardship from Templars there. Especially in the last year before the Chantry explosion in the city. Immediately in the aftermath of the explosion, Cleo and her closest friend named Bethany had followed their First Enchanter into battle in the city and helped their fellow mages escape once said battle was over. In attempts to split up and make each mage less of a target Cleo fled back to her home and resumed her life as much as she could; rejoining her friends in Valos Kas and spending lots of time with her family. -
STORY - Dragon Age: Inquisition The explosion of the conclave (which Valos Kas were hired to be security at) went south very quickly and Cleo found herself injured; especially badly in her left leg. Awoken to healers easing her pain, Cleo wants to find out what exactly happened and how to help the others that were effected as she was, but is having to stay put because of their injuries for now. - Post-Game . -
SANA CADASH
---
INFO. - Pronouns : they/she DAI Age : 26 Race : dwarf Class : rogue Specialisation(s) : tempest Identity : lesbian DAI Romance : Sera -
APPEARANCE - Sana's most striking feature is the stone-grey, skull-like tattoo on their face that contrasts with their dark brown skin, broken up by the scars around her eyes. This tattoo is either covered by a hood or shown confidently depending on her company. While observing this tattoo, others may notice Sana's dark grey eyes, arched nose and lips which are usually curled up into a scowl. Their hair is a deep black colour, very straight, just down to their shoulders and shaved on both sides of their head. Sana sports at least one plait in their hair at all times and often flips their hair to one side. They also have slight side-burns, a little hair above their top lip and thick eyebrows. Sana is obviously very short as they are a dwarf, with a very strong physique from their time mining and studying Lyrium. They wear a similar outfit to most Carta dwarfs you might see in the streets of Kirkwall although she carries a pickaxe as well as daggers and has pockets filled with notes she has made for herself. -
PERSONALITY - Unique and original, Sana is known among friends for they're energetic and spontaneous charm. Her wish to not waste the life she has and to enjoy life as much as she can leads her to her dismissing work often and spending time in taverns instead. As they can get easily bored and don't usually focus on one thing for very long, they can be misunderstood often: Sana loves their work mining, moving, selling and researching Lyrium. Not only do they enjoy it but she's also very good at it because she is strong, smart and a very quick thinker. Although they are very positive Sana has not had the best life and years among the Carta has taught her to be intolerant to other people's stupidity and nonsense as well as being very argumentative and sometimes insensitive to those she dislikes. -
BACKGROUND - Pre-Game Being born into a big family within the Mining Caste in Orzammar, Sana lived a very comfortable life. The city depends greatly on the Lyrium trade to keep their economy alive, so as you can imagine it took something big for her to have to leave this life behind. This 'big thing' came in the form of her relationship with a member of the Shaperate when she was only 16. Although she was a fairly well-behaved kid, Sana and her young love disagreed with the erasure of anyone or anything the ruling family disliked from the records. Because of this Sana encouraged her partner to do what she could to keep even the ugly side of history in the Shaper's records. This worked well for a very short time before they were caught doing so and it was decided they had to be punnished. While Miners were highly regarded, Shapers were even more so and Sana was chosen as a scapegoat to punish the pair (while keeping a talented Shaper) by being sent to join the Legion of the Dead. Of course to protect the Shaper's reputation false claims of Sana engaging in Lyrium smuggling with the Carta were the official reason for her departure and the person she loved was made to strike Sana's name from the records as they joined the Legion. Sana's time with the Legion was something they were constantly trying to get out of, using their strong stone sense to try to find out how close to the surface they were between battles with Darkspawn. A few years after joining, the Legion found themselves camped close to a Deep Roads opening and one night while the rest of the group was asleep Sana found her way up to the surface. They came out in the dark of night and managed to find their way to the nearest city she could find: Kirkwall. Having a new chance at life and wanting to make the most of it, Sana struggled making her way in such a big city with so many new types of people and things around her. She found comfort in finding other dwarfs in the city and was even relieved to be taken in and cared for by a branch of the Carta who helped Sana get on their feet and make a living working with what she knew best - Lyrium. Leading her to have a lot of dealings with the Dwarven Merchants' Guild because of her vast knowledge. This is where she met Varric Tethras, who was extremely impressed with their knowledge of Lyrium for someone only 18 and took pity on Sana for the tough life they had had so far. Alongside their usual work with the Carta, Sana began working with Varric looking into a strange form of Lyrium he found during his own Deep Roads exhibition and while her findings sometimes worried them Sana enjoyed this work more than anything. -
STORY - Dragon Age: ------ Arriving in Skyhold alongside Kyra Hawke, Sana is determined to learn more about this mysterious Red Lyrium that is now being found more frequently and more widely in Thedas. - Post-Game . -
AURELIAS TREVELYAN
---
INFO. - Pronouns : he/him DAI Age : 31 Race : human Class : rogue Specialisation(s) : artificer Identity : gay DAI Romance : Dorian -
APPEARANCE - Aurelias Trevelyan (nicknamed Eli/Elias) is a little short for a human, meaning his Chantry clothes have a habit of dragging on the floor slightly. He would sew them to fit but traveling regularly through rough terrains and habitats to research and write about historic and current thedas events means his clothes rip easily and often, leading him to get through robes quickly, disregarding and replacing them rather than repairing. He greets people with open arms, a big wide smile and deep almond eyes (in colour and shape). Eli has brown skin and ginger-brown curly hair which he usually keeps fairly short beneath a Chantry hat. He also has a yellow tattoo around his right eye symbolising and striking a resemblance to the Chantry emblem. -
PERSONALITY - Aurelias' place in the Chantry suits him much better than the other option his parents gave him of joining the Templars. He is dutiful, calm, practical, organised, responsible and disciplined - all characteristics put better to use helping the needy rather than disciplining mages. He is also very honest, by the book and hates rule breaking, making the one year he spent as a teenage Templar initiate practically torture for him. Aurelias' enjoyment of learning new things and helping others led him to start travelling to places further away from towns or villages with dedicated Chantry buildings to learn about lesser know events and stories, help the people in these areas and spread the Maker's word to people who these things may not usually reach. -
BACKGROUND - Pre-Game As a young nobleman in The Free Marches, Eli's parents gave him the choice of joining either the Templars or the Chantry. After becoming a Templar initiate with some other friends of his for a year, he decided the Chantry fit him better and travelled to a small cloister in Valence, Orlais to become a chantry brother at only 16. He found joy in the everyday mundane tasks helping the needy and the faithful and enjoyed working with the higher up members such as Mother Dorothea and gaining wisdom from her more and more. The wisdom he got from these conversations fed his thirst for knowledge and he often spent days reading and learning from the books Mother Dorothea would get for him. Nearly 10 years after joining the cloister, Dorothea was selected to become the new Divine and while Eli did sometimes visit her in the Grand Cathedral, she encouraged him to seek out the answers he wished to find in his books in the world around him, leading him to begin his journeys to places further out and away from Chantry buildings to learn about the things that happened there and the people who lived there. While Eli did begin writing books and composing poems about the new things he learnt, he also wrote letters to the Divine on subjects he thought she might find interesting (whether they be whispers of new and strange findings he had uncovered or gossip among others on political plans that may benefit her to know about). -
STORY - Dragon Age: Inquisition After returning to civilisation from a long journey searching for unknown Chantry lore, Aurelias was heartbroken to hear about the Divine's death and immediately began travel to Haven. Althrough he arrived too late he heard of the Inquisition and of Skyhold and journeyed to speak to the Herald. After having the situation explained and beginning to grieve with others who knew the Divine as he did, Eli decided to stay and work with the Inquisition. - Post-Game . -
